5 Reasons You Should Be At Every LSU Basketball Game This Season

We all know it to be true, LSU is primarily a football and baseball school. Alex Box and Tiger Stadium are filled with energy on game days, we look forward to football season all summer long and our spring is filled with good weather and talk of how the baseball team is doing this year. These are things that make going to LSU so exciting, but I think we are so focused on football and baseball, we sometimes tend to forget about our basketball team. It is not just LSU, its the SEC in general. In the South, life rotates around football, which is so much fun, but basketball is pretty cool too. Here are the main reasons to never miss a game this season

1. BEN SIMMONS.

He's going to end up being the guy to beat this season. He's the guy everyone is talking about right now and you certainly don't want to miss out. At 6'10, he handles the ball and has a descent outside shot. He's the Fournette of basketball.

2. Brandon Sampson.

He's not necessarily the big name this season, but he's certainly going to be a player to keep your eyes on. He had a phenomenal opener at the exhibition game and proved to everyone that even as a true freshmen he will dominate in the season opener against McNeese State.

3. It's indoors.

You won't freeze, and you won't die of heat like in football and baseball. So even if you don't want to go, you don't even have a real excuse this time.

4. It will give you something to do after finals.

After the first week of December, things around Baton Rouge will get slow; don't stay bored in your room, get yourself some priority points so you can go to away games next season. What better way to recover from the finals blues than to watch a little basketball.

5. We have the potential to beat Kentucky.

While we may not be a "basketball school" yet, we have the potential to beat THE "basketball school." That would certainly be something you do not want to miss. They came so close last season, but this team has the potential to make a big run and go deep in the tournament.

With big name signees like Wayde Sims and Skylar Mays, the LSU basketball program is something to watch. It'll be so important to have a consistent fan base. It really is so true that the players use the noise and the energy from the fans. Don't miss out on a great season of basketball. If you're feeling bored between seasons, head to the PMAC and cheer on your Tigers!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
