If you're anything like me, it takes hours to pack only because you don't know what to pack. Then you end up with a heavy suitcase and no room to add any additional items from your vacay away. There is a way, though, to pack light and I'm here to help you with that.
1. Use travel size as much as possible
When you have a checked bag, it's easy to get carried away throwing in all full sized products. However, it can easily add unnecessary weight to your luggage. If you're not going on a long trip, try to pack travel sized products as much as possible to not only free up space but make your luggage lighter.
2. Limit yourself to three pairs of shoes
I can easily overpack too many shoes and not even end up using them all. No matter where you're traveling to, you only need a comfortable pair of walking shoes, dress-up shoes, and sandals/boots depending on the weather conditions.
3. Once you've packed, reevaluate everything
Once you start packing, it's easy to be on a roll and throw what you think you need without a second thought. But once you pack, take a look at everything you packed and think about how much you really need it. Asses how many times you'll actually use it during your trip and if the amount makes it worth bringing. I did this when I have to pack for a 3-week trip and I was able to get rid of a few unnecessary items and make my luggage lighter.
4. Pack versatile pieces
Try to pack clothing items you know you can rework multiple times into your wardrobe. This makes making less stressful because you don't have to pack as many items and can worry less about what you'll be wearing. You can never go wrong with Staple pieces!
