Leave-in Conditioner Spray: I love Crack brand (It comes in a white bottle with light blue writing)

Hair Oil: Moroccan oil or Argon Oil works (You will be doing your hair often and the water dries it out as well)

Makeup: Bring your entire collection and get a convenient storage unit for your desk to store it!

2 Sets of Sheets: You won’t want to wait for your sheets to waste and dry before climbing back into bed

An Extra Comfy Throw: Trust me you’ll want to wrap yourself and walk around

Essentials:

A robe: Both comfy and terrycloth, Mine is Victoria Secret and I live in it!

A Blow Dryer, straightener and Curler: You will use them all, a different look every night!

A Keurig

A Microwave

A Fridge with a freezer: My roommate and I lived for our freezer, all of our friends were jealous! Definitely worth the extra money to have a decent freezer for hot pockets etc…

A ramen noodle cooker: Sold at Walmart for under 5 dollars, a must have college gadget.

Folding Drying Rack: You won’t want to dry everything

Liquid Laundry Detergent: The pods don’t work well in college laundry machines, they aren’t powerful enough.

A steamer: You’ll be surprised how many times a week you will use this when you don’t have your parents to iron and you leave your clean laundry in the hamper for a couple days.

Chip Clips

Small Vacuum: Dust busters are great

Musinex, Dayquil, Nyquil, Ibuprofen, Tylenol: You will get sick and want to feel better quickly, be prepared!

A thermometer

Mugs

A reusable water bottle: I love my camelback!

Power strips

Air Freshener: Glad plugins works wonders and you will definitely need some air freshener spray! Sometimes your dorm just won’t smell good.

Command Strips and Hooks: We found a lot of use out of the small metal hooks that command makes, perfect for hanging lights and tapestries!

Area Rug: Something cheap, it will get destroyed throughout the year

Lamps: You will want to have lighting options, just the stingy dorm light won’t do!

A bulletin board or dry erase board

A large desk Calendar

Multi-Colored Markers: Sharpies Fine point tips are great

Closet Organizer: I loved the long vertical ones with the cubbies, it housed my hoodies and t shirts.

Full Length Mirror

Box Fan: Perfect for window

Stand up oscillating fan: Good for some air circulation… you’ll need it in August

Hangers: The velvet one’s rock, nothing falls off! I also found great ones for jeans, they have multiple prongs for hanging!

Step Ladder: For hanging and unhanging and the top of our closet

Trash Can: The bigger the better

Push Pins

Pre-made Picture boards: This makes decorating easier

Christmas String lights: Find the longest ones! The longer the better and easier to hang!

Casual dresses: When its super-hot, dresses are a great cool outfit option!

Costume clothing: For theme parties/extracurricular events

An interview outfit: Just in case, Dress slacks, a nice top and flats!

Fracket: Frat-Jacket, something you don’t care if it gets lost but will keep you warm when you go out

Gloves

Going-out clothes: Bring at least 5 set outfits and then tons of cute tops!

Going-out purse: Cross bodies are a good choice!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
