6 Pennsylvania Colleges If They Were "Friends" Characters

"Friends" has been a popular show since the 1990s, and it has yet to simmer down. Friends is my personal favorite TV show; I had seen every episode an upward of 12 times before it came out on Netflix. I have grown to love these characters and wish they were my friends too. I am now a junior in college and I have been starting to notice some correlations between college and "Friends". I go to school in Pennsylvania, a state filled with colleges and universities, which give a variety of different lifestyles. PA schools would fit in great as a Friends cast so I decided to make it one.

1. Chandler Bing - West Chester University

I am going to start out with my favorite school and favorite character in the show. WCU is a school unlike any other. It gets underrated a little bit, similar to Chandler, but once you start to get to know them a whole new side comes out. West Chester and Chandler are both the jokers of the group; even with important events (i.e. Trump visiting, teachers striking, preachers harassing students) students at West Chester have a way of making a joke out of it.

2. Joey Tribbiani - Bloomsburg University

While Bloomsburg might lack some of the brains, they definitely make up for it in the party scene just like Joey. Joey is always down for anything whether it involves alcohol, food, or anything else really. If you ask a Bloom student to join you in something crazy, they will definitely be in. Joey and Bloom are both hard to hate- they stick to their own thing and they have a damn good time doing it.

3. Phoebe Buffay - Temple University

Phoebe has a very interesting past, she was homeless on the streets of New York City for a few years and would definitely be able to put up with Temples antics. She is quirky and peaceful but she still doesn't take shit from anyone, just like Temple. She walks to the beat of her own drum, dresses to express herself, and can sing and play the guitar and if that isn't Temple, I don't know what is.

4. Rachel Green - Penn State University

Penn State and Rachel are both fully aware that people do not like them sometimes, but they couldn't care less. They both tend to put a little more effort into their appearance and probably care about themselves more than the rest of them do. Even if appearance comes first, they are both there when you need them. Rachel is a great friend and Penn State does amazing charity work; both undeniable regardless of opinions.

5. Ross Geller - University of Pennsylvania

Ross and UPenn are the brains of the group. Ross is a paleontologist and professor with a PhD; the only people who would be interested in paleontology probably go to UPenn. They are the rationale of the group and also the most successful.

6. Monica Geller - Villanova University

Unfortunately nicknamed "Villanofun", both Villanova and Monica are the ones to bring the group back to reality. Monica and Villanova can be the sticklers and tend to stay to what they know; but when they let loose, they do it right (i.e. the night of the basketball championship).

PA is filled with schools that are perfect for everyone; these schools just so happen to be perfect for "Friends". I think it's time for all of us to have our own show now, too.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
