As many of you know, I have been given the opportunity to go to Guatemala for the summer. I am so excited and know that the Lord has prepared this opportunity for me.

For my spring break this year I decided to come home and try to earn some money for my trip. We had fundraisers, I babysat, and dogs. But I was really overwhelmed by the love and support I felt from all my friends and family, and even people I do not know.

Receiving this kind of support has further confirmed that Jesus is going to provide everything for this trip and while I am there. I can't wait to go and know He is preparing me financially, and He is preparing my heart! Please pray for me in this time of preparation!!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone does not try to help their self before asking others. How can someone else be expected to help you if you do not first do that yourself? I'm all about helping those that need it when the time comes, however whenever someone does not even attempt to help him or herself first then that becomes a huge problem. As we all have learned, people tend to take advantage of us in one way or another. I am sure we all read this short story when we were younger and it follows that same principle:
