Your phone calendar has nice little dots underneath each date. Or maybe you’re more traditional and choose the planner method. In that case, the planner is a rainbow of colored pen markings. To top it all off, I am sure you practice the art of sticky noting everything so you don’t forget about things. If it is not written down, it will easily be forgotten. Your mind constantly runs a mile a minute. Sound familiar? You’re not alone.

It is so easy to over schedule yourself to the point the only time you have to relax is when you are asleep. Throughout the day you are pulled in 20 different directions trying to please everyone and accomplish everything. Easily, your own basic needs get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. You watch people spend hours on Netflix, their phones, napping, complaining about life and/or just sitting around. Sometimes you envy that lifestyle. In reality, you realize all the things you are accomplishing and is leaving those people in the dust of your successes.

Going through life being so busy can easily drive someone nuts. But in reality, that is all you know and no one can convince you differently.

The hard work pays off when opportunities on opportunities for advancement are knocking at your door. The life accomplishments you will tell your children about are definitely something to brag about. Your lifestyle is sky rocketing you into success that many others can’t achieve.

With all the things you are involved in you have met some incredible people. You are constantly networking and enjoy spending your time with like-minded people. People look up to you for your charisma to achieve so much in such a small amount of time. Time management is literally your super power. You have even learned the importance to make time for “unstructured play” because remember, you are only young once.

At the end of the day, you look back at all the things you accomplished and maybe missed out on. With calendar in hand, edits are made to ensure that tomorrow things are done differently. You love your busy schedule. You hate your busy schedule. Just remember, years from now you will be able to look back and say, "I have no regrets because I know I did everything I wanted to.”

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
