For many of us, November 8th cannot come fast enough. Our living rooms, cars, offices and restaurants have been saturated with media coverage of the 2016 Presidential Election since the beginning of the summer. As we slowly crawl to the finish line, I can't help but wish our election campaign was as speedy as Canada, whose presidential campaign lasts an average of 45 days. Here are a couple reasons why I'm ready for normalcy in the media:
1. So Twitter users can stop live tweeting debates and obnoxious memes.
I'm definitely an advocate for speaking your opinion, but my news feed cannot handle any more tweets about Hillary's excessive coughing or Trump's facial expressions.
2. So Snapchat users can stop putting filters on the candidates during debates.
Because watching 20 Snapchat stories of the dog filter on Trump is a bit repetitious and unnecessary.
3. So I can stop seeing the over-exaggerated campaign commercials bashing the other candidate.
I'm all for a healthy competition, but this just takes it too far. I never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather watch a Viagra commercial.
4. So those distant relatives can stop posting excessively long and opinionated statuses on Facebook.
You always knew your uncle was headstrong, but after seeing his bursts of outrage on Facebook, you know he's officially let the campaign get him a little too riled up.
