Over 200 Bottles of Beer on the Wall

Over 200 Bottles of Beer on the Wall

Most venues have a certain character or persona that you can quickly identify. We formulate these personas in our mind to figure out where we want to go to depending on our mood. You go to The Usual for an indulgent, classic cocktail. You go to Joe T. Garcia’s for a festive, large-party atmosphere. You go to Brownstone for a cheap, $1 champagne getaway. So “What does The Flying Saucer offer?” you may ask. There are five distinct “purposes” that The Flying Saucer can provide a 21-year-old student on any given day.

The Multi-Uses of The Flying Saucer:

Kicking back after a long day of studying

Everyone has those long days, when counting down the seconds until it's over is all that occupies your mind. The Flying Saucer has a get-away ambiance that's fun, relaxing, and a little rough around the edges. Why is the biergarten idea replicated all over the country? Because we want to escape our normal environment and try something new. The Flying Saucer allows us to take a load off and forget all the obligations that are constantly occupying our minds.

Seeking a competition

So, you're the competitive type. Everything is a game in which you must win. The Flying Saucer UFO Club could be your next check off the bucket list. If you drink 200 types of beer at any Flying Saucer location, you can get your name on a plate placed in the Ring of Honor display and a $100 Toast for you and your beer-drinking friends. Earning up to ten plates can get you a number of prizes, from a custom German Saucer stein to airfare and tickets for two to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Not a bad deal.

Sports game watching

The Flying Saucer hosts game-watching for pretty much any sporting event on their multiple big screen TVs. Oftentimes there are beer specials for big sporting events, and there's guaranteed to be an amusing, rowdy crowd to get the energy going.

Finding a birthday or graduation party location

The Flying Saucer is great for a party venue as well. You can reserve a space for any size party and they will eagerly accommodate your needs. Your guests will be pleasantly surprised at the uniqueness of this venue.

Desiring consistently great beer

The Flying Saucer has multiple locations across the country and houses mostly the same beer selection in every location. Locations range from small towns like Sugar Land, Texas to urban cities like Nashville, Tennessee. One of the best things The Flying Saucer provides is consistency. When you spot a Flying Saucer, you're guaranteed to have a wide selection of the best beer available.

Great biergarten food

The food at The Flying Saucer is almost as great as the beer. They have a wide selection of bar food that is sharable for two or three people looking for a lighter snack. On the other hand, they serve burgers and sandwiches for those looking for a meal. The German influence is definitely not lacking. The menu features pretzels, bratwurst, Shepard's pie, and many other unique eats that you can't find at a standard sports bar.

Wanting a beer adventure

The selection of beer at The Flying Saucer is not a joke. They have flights of beer for those that want their taste buds to travel around the world. You can find rarities like Monty Pythons Holy Grail from Great Britain to Magic Hat #9 from Burlington, Vermont. No matter how extensive your experience is with beer, you will assuredly find a new IPA or Lager that you've never heard of.

The Flying Saucer is located at 111 E Third Street and Commerce, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.

Hours of operation: Monday-Wednesday 11AM-1AM, Thursday-Saturday 11AM-2AM, Sunday 12PM-12AM.

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
