DC Monuments Tour ~At Night~

Sure, a trip to DC can be overrated, but sometimes it can be fun to be a tourist in your own city. A way to transform this tourist trip into a romantic date however, would be taking your own walking tour of the monuments at night. Think about it, a late night walk together with the bright city lights in the background. It's cute.

Roer's Zoofari

Have an animal lover in the relationship? This date is definitely for you. Roer's Zoofari is like a petting zoo and a regular zoo all in one. They even have bus tours taking you up close and personal with the animals. Think Jurassic park, but without dinosaurs. Yes, there will be little kids running around the zoo. But, you'll barely notice them when you are your S.O. are off on a camel ride, or feeding a Giraffe.

Pet Stores

Anyone who loves dogs is guaranteed to love this date. Most people don't know that some pet stores allow visitors to play with the dogs right there when you walk in! You and your S.O. can play with any puppy of your choosing in your own personal play-pen.

A Day At The Park

If your S.O. is more of the outdoorsy type, why not plan a date at the park! Make sure to bring along a blanket and picnic basket for lunch time! As for activities, some parks have hiking trails, fishing lakes, and volleyball courts.

Try Baking or Cooking Something Together

Whether you or your significant other is good at baking or cooking is besides the point when it comes to this date. It's the memories of attempting something new together, making a few mistakes, laughing at those mistakes, and just spending time with each other that you will cherish the most. And hey! You may end up with a tasty treat at the end...maybe.

Rent a Jet Ski

Craving an adrenaline rush? This date is certain to satisfy you. Plus, riding on a two person jet ski gives you an excuse to hold your S.O. close. There are plenty of jet ski rental shops along the east coast where you could rent a jet ski for either half an hour or an hour! The prices vary per store.

Plan a Trip to the Arcade

A trip the arcade will bring out your inner child and is guaranteed to make a fun date! A little friendly competition between you and your S.O. at the basketball hoops may do your relationship some good.

Reserve a Sunset Sailboat Ride

Looking for something extra romantic? Rent a sailboat for an hour. Along the east coast there are many personal boat shops where owners will rent out there sailboat for the night! Some even offer to steer it for you if you pay extra. Love will definitely be in the air with this date.

Go Camping Together

Giphy

This would be an overnight date the two of you could enjoy! There are tons of campgrounds in the DMV that let visitors spend the night in a tent, RV, or truck. The two of you can roast marshmallows over a romantic fire wrapped in each other's arms. Sparks will definitely be flying.

Take a Road-trip Together (With a fun destination in sight)

Giphy

The two of you could take a day-trip to a local beach or city you've both wanted to explore. What will make this date special is all the quality time the two of you will have both during the drive over, and at your destination.

Any one of these suggestions will leave your S.O. impressed with your romantic and adventurous date ideas.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
