Standing on top of my victory is a molehill to someone without a mental illness.
And I know that,
I know that this is nothing to you.
I got out of bed today
I managed to eat today
I showered
I went outside
drove
listened
read
I had a full day
There are days where I cry. Those are the long days.
Silent
Pale days
It feels there is no color.
No taste
No light.
Those days still have victories
Those days are just as important.
getting water
eating something
putting on your favorite sweatshirt
seeing something that even remotely makes you smile
Anything to get you through the bad days is a victory in our eyes, the eyes of people who genuinely know and understand what you are going through.
Your victories are something that deserves a celebration.
