He's Our New President

Cry, Threaten to move, protest to Washington, but I'm sorry to tell you Donald is your president too, regardless of your vote.

My friends and my family are very interesting. They love one another and group and band all together for everything and everything and make sure everyone is ok. I'm not sure if that's with all families or mostly Hispanic families that have that sense to their family, but I digress. I can only reflect the ignorance and childish comments that flood my Facebook page and continue to do so over the Presidential election. I understand the reasons trust me I do, but at the same time it doesn't give a good reason for the behavior I see coming from "adults".

Ever since election night, there has been a constant whine session about the outcome and Donald Trump becoming President of the United States and the outcry for him destroying America and his treatment towards woman and I could go on and on; however, this isn't the only thing that was the issue. What stirred from those posts were comments to mentioned posts that threatened and that threw away relationships with close friends and even family all because of this political outcome. Quite childish if you ask me and it's hard to come out of that looking at family and friends the same because they decide to block or unfriend anyone that voted Donald Trump. My brother's don't stop playing because people want to do things differently, so why are you accepted to do it while you're 20+ years older than they are? Accept your "loss" and move on. You have someone that you didn't want in office. Most likely you could be a part of the reason why he got his success. We can all admit that he ran his marketing well. He got himself out there and continued to stay relevant being the loud person we have come to know and vote for.

Donald Trump wasn't exactly my first pick, nor do I really care for him as a person; however, I'm not going to sit in a corner and cry about the choices my fellow Americans made. We all will have to see what is to come. He has yet to do anything, as he just became President this past Friday. Give him time prior to judging too much. My hope is that his campaign was a part of his marketing persona and that's it. I've said this before, but I want his acceptance speech to be the embodiment of his presidency and not the Trump we've been given in order to stay in the airwaves one news station at a time. He's our president. We Americans have to stand and watch now.

College is a crazy, beautiful, amazing whirlwind. It is highly popularized in television and movies, but not necessarily in the most accurate way. Yes, there's frats, dingy dorms, raging house parties—but there's also a lot that people fail to mention.

1. If you thought that you knew how to study, you're wrong.

All of your classes aren't taught every day, so professors aren't on your case constantly about reading and memorizing material. Once you get back that "questionable" first exam grade, you'll kick it into high gear and figure out what works for you

Girl With Bleached Hair
Tumblr

I've been a bleach blonde for over a year now, and let me tell you, it is a lifestyle. More hair appointments, longer showers, and special shampoo. But it is totally worth it!

1. Mentally preparing yourself to convince your hair dresser that white is the way to go.

2. Or the anxiety of what could go wrong by bleaching your hair at home.

3. You could either become a ginger

4. Or a pixie

5. The face you make in the mirror when you take off your towel to unveil the perfect white strands.

6. Taking a million selfies the day you bleached it, because you know your roots will be back in literally 2 days.

7. Having to get bangs or a big chop because your hair is so damaged.

8. Having orange highlights in between touch-ups.

9. Going out for a drink afterwards to debut your updated look.

Despite the struggles, you love your platinum blonde hair! You make sure Instagram knows it, too. You don't need a filter, because the color is flawless by itself!

Finals: just thinking about them gives you anxiety. Only two weeks separate you from summer, but they're the longest of the semester. I've been at this college thing for almost three and a half years, and while I thought that high school was truly the lowest point of my existence, I'm beginning to realize that it was a walk in the park. Like, I miss the days when the biggest white lie I told my parents was my made up excuse about being late for fourth period. These days, the white lies are a tad more complex, and as ashamed as I am to admit it, I've definitely told a few of these.
