Our Love Is An Ocean

Love is an ocean wide

Full of changing tides

And in the distance a there sits a shore

I'd been learning to swim for a while

And though many tried to drown me

I managed to float

But you had never truly learned

Hurt too young, you couldn’t even begin to swim

So you sank

And with you sank the hope

That we would reach the shore

With you sank our love

An ocean disappearing in itself

An ocean too wide

To keep our secret

An ocean tide floating away

But not long after, the tide flew away

The tide that drowned you,

Swept in again

And brought with it all our secrets and woes

I taught you to swim a your own

Although alone you'll never be

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
