Our First Days of Study Abroad

It starts off with a missed flight...

Our First Days of Study Abroad

My study abroad trip has started, and the first week has been quite interesting. It all started the very first day when we were trying to get out of the United States. Let me tell you a little bit about my first few days here...

Day One: Our first flight was delayed several hours causing us to miss our connecting flight. We ended up getting stuck in Philadelphia for almost a full day until our rescheduled flight. The airline wouldn't really help us out so we ended up having to Uber to a far hotel that actually had rooms available for a semi-decent price.

Day Two: We checked out of our hotel, which thankfully included a breakfast. We didn't have to be at the airport for several hours so we decided to go grab some lunch. Once we got to the airport, we checked in, went through security, and had time to chill for a bit and grab a snack. We later boarded our flight and had around 9 hours on this plane ahead of us. Luckily, they had dinner, drinks, and snacks to help us out. Oh, and movies!

Day Three: We were still on the plane and finally landed in Prague in the morning. Our plane ride also included a breakfast which was decent. We got off the plane, went through customs, picked up our bags, and exchanged some money. We were picked up and taken to lecture, since our program had already began. After that, we went to our place, dropped off our luggage, and decided to get ready for the day. We were very happy to finally make it and not be stuck at the airport anymore. We grabbed some food at a nearby restaurant, walked around Old Town Square, and checked out a few places for shopping. We explored some more of Prague and ended up having a bit of a girls' day. Our group later went out that night and took some time to get to know each other more.

Day Four: We started the day by going to class. After lecture was over, our group grabbed some lunch, checked out some stores, and spent several hours taking photos. (Our study abroad is a photo communications trip so much of our time is spent exploring the area and taking photos.) Our whole group got dinner with our professors, and later on that night, our group went out with some friends we had previously met. Our group bonded and made more friends that night. We ended up having a great time!

Day Five: The day started with a quick breakfast and going to lecture again. Our professors took us on a little tour of a photography studio, and after that, our group continued exploring and shooting photos. We grabbed a delicious lunch, took many photos, enjoyed dinner and dessert, and continued exploring more of Prague. Some great places to check out in Prague include Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and definitely Prague Castle. Prepare yourself for a bit of walking, but the views will be amazing!

We still have many days left on our study abroad trip. We're currently in Prague and will be continuing to Arles, Paris, and London later on during this trip! We've been taking lots of photos, eating some great food, and walking a ton! There is much to still explore!

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

College is a great place to meet people, especially through Greek life. If you look closely at sororities, you'll quickly see there are many different types of girls you will meet.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
