Statism as a Religion

"upon this rock, I will build my church"

The Founding Fathers left England because of a myriad of tyrannies promoted by government as well as religious oppression that had led to many religious wars. But many people have fallen prey to a religious ideology that is the most dangerous in the world. To many, this might conjure up images of the Westboro Baptist Church or the KKK or maybe ISIS (or whatever they're calling themselves this week) or Al-Qaeda or Hamas, but the extremists of this religion are more dangerous and more deadly. Looking at a few small aspects of both can bring about a scary conclusion. The deadliest religion on Earth is statism.

Sacred Symbols

Does it piss you off when someone steps on or burns the American flag? What is that even called? Desecration? Something seems amiss about that. To desecrate is to: "to damage (a holy place or object)". So you are essentially ascribing holy status to a piece of fabric. A piece of fabric that you swear allegiance to. A piece of fabric that symbolizes a republic that a seeks only to undermine your rights and your freedoms.

Leadership

Whether it is at the hand of a preacher or a President, your belief or your life is presided over by someone. They give you guidelines as to how you should live to be a righteous productive member of society. Then you have other forms of leadership members of the church state that vote on Amendments...laws....measures that enhance the state..church..wait no, state was right.

Churches

If you do not feel as though you were indoctrinated, then your indoctrination was a success. Schools, like churches start an early age to indoctrinate educate the parishioners youth to accept authority without question. The second you question authority, you are branded as a heretic. Schools, like churches and like government, demand your absolute compliance lest you are regarded as lesser. Government, like churches, demand you believe as they do or else you are labeled as insane or "the enemy".

Temples & Monuments

If you have the chance, take a pilgrimage to Washington, DC. take in the Washington Monument and pay homage the AllFathers Founding Fathers. Or go to the Lincoln Memorial, pay homage to a man who ended slavery, yet sought to make slaves of all Americans through use of government force, something that has continued even to today.

Worship

Many people saw Jesus Christ incarnate Bernie Sanders at many rallies, telling you to worship him "Feel The Bern" and he in his Christ like power use of government force would answer all of your prayers give you the things you want. Politicians are regarded as lords and Saviors when they are only wolves in sheep's clothing. Don't think I'm just going to s**t on Bernie though. This happened throughout virtually all of the campaigns, even Madeleine Albright who campaigned for Hillary Clinton went as far as to say “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!” Donald Trump even took the belief of state worship a little literally, citing scripture (incorrectly I might add) at a rally. Donald Trump seeks to save us from our sins "Make America Great Again" and will only further the outright dangerous beliefs of statism. You, John/Jane Q Taxpayer will only be further enslaved by the policies and be led to the slaughter like sheep by the very people who feed you.

"In Closing"

The religion that is statism is a cancer on society and it must be removed. Not by force of course. Only you can decide if you want blind servitude to be replaced by voluntaryism. I cannot and will not make that decision for you. To try to make that choice for you would violate the essence of human agency and the use of force. All I can do is expose you to these parallels. What you do from here is in your hands.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
