How is it that America has turned a blind eye to life-threatening issues until the day a school massacre occurs? Will we continue to hide under the covers?
Such atrocities make me question our country's endurance and strength through global issues. It makes me question our identity and unity as a nation. We are misguided in our actions and have limited sympathy towards our civilians whose safety is risked with matters as minuscule as a stroll in the park.
Words will never fully convey the hurt and the suffering of victim's loved ones. Chances for education, to grow up and to thrive are compromised due to our country's ignorance of gun laws. I am tired of defensive justifications to defend our country's identity, and I will never understand why we act only to force deterioration.
I pray that in the coming days trying voices are transformed to equality and for the villianous ignorance to be banished.
