Being that it's known as "Hollywood's Biggest Night," one has come to expect a lot of things to go down at the Oscars. Each year viewers are left shocked, delighted, or outraged over some aspect of the ceremony, but that just adds to the exciting buzz of the entire process. Last night's 89th Annual Academy Awards were no different. We laughed, we cried, and we felt true secondhand embarrassment like we have never felt before (thanks Warren Beatty). Here are some of the best moments from the Oscars 2017.

1. Seth Rogen and Michael J. Fox were truly all of us when they did their own personal rendition of "The Schuyler Sisters" from Hamilton.

And Hamilton mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda couldn't handle it.

2. Viola Davis finally got the Oscar that she so truly deserved.

After three nominations, the queen finally got her crown.

3. John Legend's performance of the "La La Land" medley was truly a work of art.

Truly, we should just redo the entire movie and have him sing everything.

4. The ladies from "Hidden Figures" brought out actual NASA legend Katherine Johnson, and it was magical.

5. Jimmy Kimmel made it rain snacks.

Some, like Taraji P. Henson, appreciated it more than others.

6. Auli'i Cravalho absolutely nailed her "How Far I'll Go" performance.

And also kept her cool when she got nailed in the head by a flag.

7. Jimmy Kimmel made an Oscar's Edition of Mean Tweets and it was everything we ever hoped for.

8. HARRY POTTER FINALLY WON AN OSCAR!

It took nearly two decades, but thanks to Colleen Atwood and her costume designs for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Harry Potter can FINALLY be called an Academy Award winning franchise.

9. Iranian director Asghar Farhadi made a powerful statement by sending Anousheh Ansari to read an acceptance speech on his behalf.

Farhadi announced his planned absence weeks ago to stand in solidarity with those affected by Trump's immigration ban, and he called for empathy in his moving acceptance speech for Best Foreign Language Film.

10. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway pulled the ultimate Steve Harvey and mistakenly announced "La La Land" as Best Picture winner instead of "Moonlight."

And it made all of us want to absolutely dissolve into the floor out of secondhand embarrassment.

However, despite the mix-ups, and Lin-Manuel Miranda being forced to throw away his shot at snagging an EGOT, the 2017 Academy Awards will truly go down as one of the biggest "Hollywood's biggest nights" in history. Viola Davis became the first black actress to ever win an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony, "Moonlight" ultimately got the accreditation it deserved, and we got to watch Michael J. Fox show up in the actual DeLorean, so really everyone wins. Until next year, Oscars, and as always, a big thank you to the Academy.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
