One of the reasons I chose UCF was the location. Orlando has an incredible variety of restaurants, theme parks, stores, and other great spots to hang out with friends or significant others. I love exploring the city with my boyfriend or just enjoying a great meal together.2

Of course, pricing is almost always a factor, but you'd be surprised how much your money can get you. Here's a list I have put together of some of the best date night spots around Orlando:

1. Orlando City Soccer Game

Support the home team! OC tickets can be as cheap as $20 a ticket, and make a great date night! But watch the prices on the concessions because they aren't cheap.

2. Lake Eola Farmer's Market

If you have to pay for parking, that may be your only expense on this date! Visit the booths to sample juices, cookies, dips, lotions, and more. Pack a picnic and eat by the water, while live music plays around you. Of course, you'll have to spend a little more if you can't resist that cookie dough booth.

3. La Femme du Fromage Grilled Cheese & Beer Flight Nights

Now, this has to be Heaven! I'm sure most of you have heard of beer flights, but imagine those being paired with a grilled cheese flight! These are the cheese experts, and you can sample their grilled cheeses and beer on Friday nights!

4. Farris & Foster's Chocolate Factory

I must confess, I've been here way too many times. When given the opportunity to make my own chocolate, I just couldn't resist. Make truffles and try out their chocolate conveyer belt to cover things from Oreo cookies to potato chips! Their date nights are Fridays at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Expect twinkle lights and romantic music. Even bring your own bottle of wine if you desire.

5. SAK Comedy Club

Laugh together at SAK's improv theater located on Orange Ave. You never know what you're going to get, as each show varies. Tickets range from $5 to about $20. You and your date can take a shot at improv yourselves with their classes. If you're lucky, they may be offering their free improv class.

6. Better Than Sex Dessert

The name really says it all. Enjoy a glass of wine rimmed with chocolate alongside your date eating a "Cookie Nookie Pie." Head over here for a sweet nightcap.

7. A Patch of Blue

Think of all the pictures you can take or the pies you can bake with all of the blueberries you pick at this U-Pick farm. It boasts a 5-star rating and is the perfect outdoor date.

8. Foxtail's Farmhouse

Foxtail's had to expand to accommodate all of their business. Stop by with your date to grab a coffee from their experimental bar. They have locations in both downtown Orlando and Winter Park.

9. Leu Garden's - Movie Night

Take advantage of these movie nights while the weather is still beautiful outside. Pack a picnic dinner with a bottle of wine and settle in for just $6 each amongst the beautiful garden.

10. Kelly Park

Located in Apopka, Kelly Park brings all of the outdoor adventures you and your partner have been craving. My personal favorite is tubing in the natural lazy river, but that's just one of the outdoor activities. Pay just $3 for admission to the park and grab some tubes on your way.

11. Cobb Plaza Cinema Cafe 12

Combine dinner and a movie at this Cinebistro theatre. Watch any of the latest releases while enjoying more than just popcorn.

12. Briarpatch Restaurant

I will never be able to rave about the food at Briarpatch enough. The restaurant is generally packed, but the food is so worth the wait. The pancakes are crisp on the outside, but so fluffy in the center. The cheese grits are to die for, and their cakes are almost a foot tall. Its location is also beautiful, as it's right on Park Ave. in Winter Park. Enjoy the perfect brunch date before walking around the rose garden and stopping by the shops along the avenue.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.
