This past week, Americans witnessed the worst mass shooting on American soil. Forty-nine innocent victims were left dead, and an additional 53 were wounded by an outraged shooter in Orlando, Florida. The shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, was killed at the scene.

Mateen’s actions were that of terror, and hate against the LGBT community. When speaking to his parents, it was revealed how Mateen was outraged when he saw 2 men kiss in Miami. And seeing as this has become a common practice, Mateen decided to take action, and made yet another public place a shooting range.

The gun laws in America make it insanely easy for anyone to obtain a gun, and express their “discontent.” No place can truly be considered safe. The frequency of shootings that take place has increased, and it is certainly concerning to say the least. Schools, universities, pubs, parks, and every place imaginable is being turned into a shooting range by individuals who don’t like the way things are. If I was to write or say anything that someone didn’t agree with, they could just as easily look me up on the internet, and we’d have a gun range in yet another place. And this doesn’t just apply to me, but everyone.

Mateen decided to do what he did because he didn’t approve of same-sex relationships. In a country that is all about acceptance and being tolerant towards others, people sure go to extremes just because they don’t agree with someone else’s beliefs. There need to be more restrictions on how guns can be obtained. People also need to keep their emotions in check and can’t go around taking the lives of innocent people as they please.

Whoever is the next president (please let in not be Trump), needs to ensure that this doesn’t continue to happen in the future. America will never be safe if this isn’t dealt with, swiftly and effectively.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
