5 Things You Should Do In New Orleans If You're A Fan Of 'The Originals'

In This Article:

In 'The Originals,' New Orleans is their home and many scenes are shot in New Orleans, making it a great place to explore sets. Along with being a great party area since there are no open container rules, New Orleans is one of the richest places for supernatural history and a lot of weird mysteries.

1. Walk around the French Quarter

The French Quarter is shown in The Originals many times and it is also one of the best places to visit in New Orleans. It is full of liveliness and music. The place is a great place to people watch and just walk around and enjoy the look of the streets.

2. Visit a Voodoo Shop

Presly Phillips

There are many voodoo shops in New Orleans. Marie Laveau's is one of the many. The voodoo shops are shown in The Originals as where some of the witches worked. They are a lot of fun to look around in and they have fun things to buy as a souvenir.

3. Visit Boutique du Vampyre

Boutique du Vampyre is a cute vampire boutique that was shown in The Originals and also has a couple things from The Vampire Diaries. They have vervain necklaces and blood bags you can buy along with amazing other supernatural souvenir's. The workers there are also amazing themselves.

4. Lafayette Cemetery

In New Orleans they do not bury their dead and instead are put in tombs. The Lafayette Cemetery is seen in The Originals many times because it's where the witches connect with their ancestors. It is a really neat place to tour whether with a tour guide or walking around yourself.

5. Go on a Ghost or Vampire Tour

There are many different tours you can sign up for in New Orleans that start at the Voodoo Lounge. The one I suggest is the Ghost and Vampire Tour for all The Originals fans. It is spooky but also safe and a lot of fun. On the plus side you get 2 for 1 Hurricanes during your tour.

New Orleans is perfect for fun and adventure, especially if you are into the weird stuff. See the French Quarter have fun and explore the history of New Orleans. The more you find out, the more you understand why The Originals picked that place as home.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
