I've always been the type of person that has a smart phone, yet uses it only for phone calls, text messages and various social media sites. Although I realize that in this day and age, there is an app for everything, I rarely utilize these apps to my advantage. After finding that my planner, sticky notes and other means of staying "organized" are no longer working for me, I had to find a different way to keep my day to day activities on track. Below is a list of the best apps to keep you organized and sane throughout your day to day lives.
1. Wunderlist
Wunderlist is an app for organizing shareable lists including to-do lists, shopping lists, lists for aiding in project management and the list goes on (no pun intended). I have found that the nicest aspect of this app is that everything is shareable, so its great for group projects, roommates, etc. You are also able to set due dates so that no deadlines are ever missed and there is a much more prominent reminder than the alarms already programmed into your phone.
2. Trello
Trello is an app for organizing to-do lists, but serves as a greater organization tool for any size project that may be on your plate. The setup looks very similar to Pinterest, which many great organizers probably have prior knowledge of. You are able to organize your projects into different boards and easily mark your progress as you make it. You are also able to share these boards and lists as well as add due dates, labels and attachments to each of them.
3. MealBoard
MealBoard is an app that allows for organization of recipes, meal planning and ideas and refrigerator and pantry item management. With this app, you are able to manage your recipes, ingredients on hand in your own refrigerator and pantry, grocery lists and meal prep and planning ideas. The most interesting thing I discovered about this app is that you are also able to program in which grocery stores you frequent the most, along with the aisles that all of your favorite ingredients are in.
4. Level Money
Level Money is an app that makes monitoring your spending habits, bank accounts and finances a whole lot easier. The most interesting aspect about this app is that once you plug in all of your monthly essentials including rent, utilities and groceries, you are given the remaining amount that you can comfortably spend on non-essentials, instead of guessing every month. It makes budgeting so much easier and whole lot less stressful.
5. Evernote
Evernote is an app that basically collects all of your small reminders and thoughts that you easily forget on a day to day basis. All of the notes you jot down are easily accessible and include anything from a small thought, reminder, to-do list or scannable picture to access anytime later on. The most interesting aspect about this app is that everything is shareable with others and you are able to access every note on any device that you may have.
