Leather, soft, spongey, warm and sweet. These are the words that came to mind when picking up the orange peel. These scents and textures immediately reminded me of being by the gulf in Florida. The citrus smell reminds me of sitting on the dock, soaking in the sunshine and being at a state of total ease. I am able to picture the citrus groves, the rows and rows of trees bursting with fresh oranges, lemons and limes. Then, to my backyard, with the few citrus trees we have there bursting in the warm sunshine on a humid day. It is amazing that a little cup with a piece of fruit skin can bring so many thoughts and memories flowing back.
