It came to a shock for many seeing Donald Trump win the presidential election this past November. People took to their Twitter account, joking around that they too will end up in the White House, seeing a man with no experience in the government , run for this high power position and win. That win convinced Oprah to reconsider running for the 2020 election.
In an interview with Bloomberg Media’s David Rubenstein,Oprah was asked "Have you ever thought that, given the popularity you have—we haven’t broken the glass ceiling yet for women—that you could actually run for president and actually be elected?"
She responded by saying that before to the 2016 presidential election, she never thought about running, but now is thinking of putting in her bid for 2020.
"I just thought, ‘Oh… oh?’” she said, with Rubenstein adding, “Because, it’s clear you don’t need government experience to be elected president of the United States,” according to College Candy.
“That’s what I thought. I thought, ‘Oh gee, I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough’… And now I’m thinking—Oh," Oprah said.
This wasn't the first time that the 63 TV Host was asked this questioned. In an interview with Stephen Colbert on January, the media mogul had completely rejected that idea, stating that it just wasn't her thing.
