Welcome to OPOW 6, the continuation of friends’ recommendation! Just in time for the holidays, OPOW is giving you Part 2 of recommended songs from friends at Facebook and other social media. Some songs are old. Some songs are new. All of them will bring your holiday cheer, despite not having anything Christmas related.

Special Thanks to Joni, Baylie, Rand, Cate, and Kassandra “Kassy” for your recommendations!

Psy “Napal Baji” (Kassy)

With his out-of-the-norm style and dance moves, Korea’s viral sensation Psy has finally come back with new music. While his first single “Daddy” is a fun song about impressing the ladies with his dad bod, Psy’s “Napal Baji” will have you dance in bell-bottom jeans. “Napal Baji” is about having a good time and celebrating yourself. Psy’s new song will bring you fun and excitement

Biggest thanks to Kassy for recommending this song!

Justin Bieber “Sorry” (Cate A.)

Off from his new album Purpose, Justin Bieber has returned to the music scene. He came to say “Sorry” for a long hiatus then makes up for his absence with his smash-hit. “Sorry” is about reflecting your mistakes on hurting your partner and apologizing to win them back. Not only you can break out into a dance, this song will help you apologize to anyone—your lover, your teacher, or your mother—in an upbeat way. This beats giving them Bieber Fever. Jokes aside, Bieber’s new song will have you dance like a professional dancer.

Biggest thanks to Cate for recommending this song!

Courtney Barnett “Pedestrian At Best” (Joni H.)

From her album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, singer Courtney Barnett releases her first single “Pedestrian At Best.” “Pedestrian At Best” is about not living up to people’s expectation of others through struggles of success. Barnett’s vocal reaches to her audience with straightforward lyrics and realistic ideas of success. If you want to rock out of people’s expectation of yourself, blast “Pedestrian At Best” to give yourself a little edge.

Biggest thanks to Joni for recommending this song!

Galantis “Firebird” (Rand B.)

From their album Pharmacy, Swedish EDM duo Galantis brings energy to life with their song “Firebird.” “Firebird” is about having an adventurous night with friends and trembling heroine. While the song does not promote taking heroine or cigarettes, this energetic pop song will have you dancing all day, everyday.

Biggest thanks to Rand for recommending this song!

Pretty Much Everything from Halsey’s Badlands album (Baylie M., Joni H., and Cate A.)

The most requested artist! Singer Halsey released her incredible album Badlands on August before school started a new term. With songs like “Castle”, “Coming Down”, and “Control,” Halsey’s vocals brought such song to life. Each song contained lyrics with realistic and strong messages that should not be overlooked by mainstream pop music. Instead of selectively pick a Halsey song that sticks out, her Badlands album is worth listening to on repeat.

Biggest thanks to Baylie, Joni, and Cate for recommending this album!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
