People are always doing this crazy thing called sharing their opinions, even if their opinions are hidden under rage, or elitism they still share it. When people in hollywood or artists share their opinions they’re often told to keep it to themselves.
A lot of celebrities are artists, whether it be acting, painting, writing or any form of art. They have always existed on the outskirts, they have made careers on shining a light on the parts of ourselves we don’t want to see or the parts of ourselves we have trouble seeing. Just for a moment what they create can bring us face to face with ourselves.
Recently there has been anger over celebrities sharing their opinions and people are mad.
First let me say To deny freedom of speech to any person, regardless of social standing/platform, is anti-American. To state otherwise is being hypocritical, while using the same right you are trying to deny.
The argument of people saying that celebrities shouldn’t share their opinions is like a boxing match going back and forth except its my sanity that always ends up getting punched in the face.
Honestly the reason people are mad is not because they don't care what celebrities think it’s because they do care, thats what really angers them, part of us is always listening. If nobody cared they wouldn't be talking about it. Even if what they say has some form of elitism there can still be truth in their words. We always listen when they share the same opinion, but the second its different we attack them for being part of the “hollywood elite”
An opinion is simply an opinion, but even with this is mind it when people misrepresent information due their internal bias towards a certain subject “It’s just my opinion” shouldn’t be a valid defense. As long as a celebrity or anyone shares an informed opinion backed with facts and context there should be no dilemma.
In the end though celebrities can say whatever random opinions they want, no matter how uninformed it is, some might even become president.
