Opinion: 2016 Presidential Election
Wall Street Journal

This week is one of the, if not the, biggest week in the past four years. On Tuesday, November 8th, people from all over the nation will flock to their designated voting booths if they have not already voted (like me!). As we look towards the future and what we want this nation to be about, this election will be the basis for just that. After all the controversies, nasty comments and plain stupidity, I just want to be safe in my country that I love for the next four to eight years. We live in a scary time with weapons, insane people and pretty unpredictable events. I do believe that there is a candidate that will protect the American people and make those unpredictable events, predictable. I understand that every person in this country thinks their opinion is the right one and no one could tell them differently. This irks me because how can their opinion be the right one? There is no right or wrong when it comes to opinion because it is just that, an opinion. There may be facts (I use the word fact lightly) behind your opinion but it doesn't mean it is right.

If we look at facts versus opinion, that will tell a whole different story. Many people don't have facts backing their opinion. A lot of the time they are just saying what they believe without even researching what is behind their words. This is frustrating to me because I have done so much research about my opinions and I stand firm in them. When someone challenges my opinion I am more than prepared to present them with facts that have formed my opinion. My opinion is a controversial one to about half the nation, the other half basically has my same opinion and a small portion of the United States doesn't have either opinion.

On November 9th, I hope to wake up to the news that Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States. This will take a weight off of my shoulders as well as millions of Americans. I will not have to worry about my safety. I will worry less about the economy. I will not have to worry about my second amendment being taken away from me. I will be content knowing that for at least the next four years I will not have to worry about the things I would worry about if Hillary Clinton was elected President of the United Stats of America come November 8th.

Do your research and go vote on November 8th!

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
