An Open Letter To My Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

I love you more than anyone. You mean so much to me and sometimes I worry that you forget. So, here's a reminder.

I wasn't aware of how close we were going to end up when we met. There was no clear sign of connection. But once I saw it, I grabbed on. I'm just thankful that you did too.

I think you're phenomenal. No, really. You're absolutely amazing. You're hilarious, and we can laugh forever about nothing. You're very intelligent, and I can always count on you. And even if you don't always feel as though you are, I will always be there to remind you that you're beautiful. You're a great listener.

We have so much in common, it still shocks me sometimes. Hanging out with you is the perfect pick-me-up. I can't stay in a bad mood when I'm talking to you, because you're a ray of sunshine to me.

We've sit alone on our phones together for hours and I guarantee I was still having fun. It's incredible how just being around you is enjoyable.

We have so many memories together. I never want to forget a single one.

I don't know exactly how I can feel as though I met you yesterday and also feel as though we've known each other as long as we've been alive. Either way, I want to continue making memories and having weird conversations with you forever.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
