Dear Veterans,

Thank you.

Thank you for being braver than me. Thank you for going through hell and back for us. Thank you for putting your life on the line. Thank you for seeing the horrific things in this world so I don't have to. Thank you for leaving your family so that I could stay with mine. Thank you for going through pain so I could have luxury. Thank you for going to the danger zone so that I can sleep safe and sound. Thank you for being more than I could ever be.

Both of my grandpas were in the military. Though only one of my grandfathers is still with us now, I wanted to write this for them. I will never understand everything they have gone through. But I want them, and every other veteran to know that their service is appreciated. Even though they served before I was even a thought of existence, their sacrifices made a difference in my life. My words won't do justice but maybe it will cover just a tiny portion of my appreciation. I can't imagine what veterans have gone through and the emotions they deal with after they are finished with their service.

So, on this Veteran's Day, say a big thank you to a veteran you know. No matter how they served in our military, they do a great service for us and they deserve to be recognized for this. Forget everything else going on in the world and realize the sacrifices they made and make them feel special for it.

So to Grandpa Ray in heaven and Poppy and every other veteran out there that reads this, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you have done. We can never repay you enough, but know you are recognized!
