Dear Coffee,
I would like to take this time to thank you for being there for me in the early mornings, long afternoons and late nights. There have been countless times where I thought I could not study any longer and a coffee break was exactly what I needed to pull through with an all-nighter before the very important final exam that was worth 30 percent of my grade.
The many flavors and options you come in make it that much more delicious and the reason you have stood the test of time. It does not matter if I decide to have you hot or iced; light or dark roast; flavored or plain I know you will get the job done.
Thank you for being a universally loved and inexpensive drink that allows me to still go out and socialize without breaking the bank. One of my favorite past times is only buying one cup of you while utilizing free Wi-Fi and overstaying my welcome at local coffee shops!
I am sorry that I did not like you when I was younger. Throughout high school, I was immature and did not appreciate your taste or entirely understand your purpose. I did not need you like I do now that I am in college. You were always unapologetically you and I did not accept it then, but I do now.
Here’s to many more years of helping me get through life. I know you will continue to keep me caffeinated whether I’m drinking you at a meeting, at an awkward date or at the library. I know caffeine crashes happen sometimes, but that’s my fault. Please do not feel bad, sometimes I get the perfect balance of cream with you and it just tastes so good not to keep drinking.
I don’t plan on consuming so much of you my entire life. College is a stressful four years where there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. However, with your help I will continue to get through the 10-page papers, internships and three-hour night classes.
Thank you again for helping me at my worst so I can become my best.
Warm Regards,
Kate
