All the stuff I've never said thank you for.

An Open Thank You To My Best Friend
Haley Robbins

Dear Best Friend,

Thank you, first of all. You’ve been such a constant in my life when my life has been full of change. You’ve been the one person who’s constantly assured me that everything was going to be OK even when I thought my world was ending. For all that you’ve done for me, here is a list of things that I have forgotten to thank you for.

1. Helping me through my emotional breakdowns.

One of the biggest things that you have done for me is helping me through some tough and trying times. The times that I’ve called you crying, laid in your arms crying or just needed to vent about things that were going on. Every single time I needed that, you were there for me and I appreciate that so much. It takes a special person to be able to hold someone, just let them cry and then know exactly what to say to help them. Thank you.

2. Always being down for a food run.

Seriously though, shout out to you for always being down to going to McDonald’s, Taco Bell or Sonic with me at like 2 a.m. (even if that meant breaking curfew). It always helped that we were always in the same mood for the same food at the same time as well. Our 2 a.m. adventures always turned into sitting in one of our cars having a very therapeutic heart to heart. There was nothing that we couldn’t talk about together and that is something I cherish and hold dear to my heart. Thank you so much darling.

3. Going on countless adventures with me.

Thank you for always being down for going on some kind of adventure with me. Whether it be exploring a town close to the town our college is in, going to a new place to go "hammocking," trying a new restaurant or exploring a new place on campus we’ve both never been to, every time that we do something new together memories are bound to made. It’s always a fun time with you no matter what we are doing. You’re the one person in my life that I know I can count on to be down for something new and exciting. Thank you.

4. Pushing me closer to the Lord.

One of the most important things in both of our lives is our relationships with the Lord. Thank you for always pushing me closer and closer to Him with every rough situation that I might face. You’re my prayer warrior, my bible study buddy and the one that I can rely to go to a church service with me. Thank you for always worshiping Him with me and for always reminding me that He is the one constant thing in my life that will never change. He is my rock and my foundation. Thank you for that, that means more than you’ll ever know.

5. Loving me unconditionally.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you for loving me with a love that still amazes me to this day. We’ve been friends for almost three years and still every time I think about the way that you truly care for me and love me, I am so amazed. You are such a kind soul and I love you so so much. You’re truly one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I thank the Lord for you daily.

In conclusion, you’re my best friend and I appreciate you more than you may ever know and I thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me. You’re one of the brightest lights in this dark world that we live in and again I just want to say thank you for that. You’re truly a gem, my love.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
