When you really like an artist or a band, you tend you listen to most of their material- from their popular albums to their lesser known ones. For me, there was a time where even though I like the artist, I did not spend much time learning about their side projects or solo careers.

If you really like an artist, you should at least spend some time listening to side projects.\

For example, Corey Taylor from Slipknot has another band called “Stone Sour”. Slipknot is a metal band, but Stone Sour is more of an alternative band. It is such an amazing band- different sound- but great sound. I would not have discovered them if I did not have an open mind about music.

Now, when it comes to alternative bands, Stone Sour is one of my favorites and in an overall list, I would position them higher than Slipknot, the more well-known band out of Corey Taylor's two bands. That's something I did not consider years ago, that I would like the "side project" more so than the actual main band.

So maybe you have a Stone Sour in your life that you have not paid much attention to that once you do, you will discover something you love that has just been waiting for you.
