Why I Love Florida State University
Gabrielle Silberman

Dear Florida State University,

Thank you for giving me one of the best experiences of my life. You are so warm and welcoming. I couldn't have seen myself anywhere else. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. You have introduced me to my best friends. You have been with me through it all. You have seen me at my worst. You have seen me at my best. You have led me to new places. You continuously help shape me into the individual that I am today and will be tomorrow.

You have given me the best nights out. The nights that I will never forget. And the mornings I will shamelessly never forget. You have filled my heart with love and laughter. You have pushed me to make a name for myself. I am proud to be a part of something much bigger than myself. Thank you for entertaining me. Thank you for having an incredible football team that I can root for every weekend. You have truly shown me what it means to be a Florida State Seminole.

Thank you for letting me change my major a million times before I found the perfect one for me. Because of you I learned how to take charge of my goals and aspirations. Thank you for allowing me to fall in love with everything you had to offer. You maybe even made it a little too easy.

You have introduced me to organizations that have changed my life in ways that I never thought possible. You have given me the foundation I need to prosper in life and I am forever grateful. You continue to drain my bank account day after day, but I forgive you. Because no money in the world can amount to how much I have grown over the years. You have rained on me when I didn't have an umbrella, but I forgive you. You have even given me all kinds of sicknesses, maybe even the plague. And for those weeks I was miserable, I'm still trying to get over that one.

I'm sorry I skipped class that one time, I may or may not have been too hungover. It will never happen again, but I make no promises. The Strip and Pots have some pretty good deals during the week. And I'm sorry I skipped class because I overslept. And I'm sorry I skipped class because I just didn't want to go. You have given me all the knowledge that my brain could possibly carry. You have graciously taught me how to procrastinate with just the right amount of time to spare.

Thank you for everything. Thank you for being the beautiful campus that you are. Thank you for the breathtaking sunrises over Landis Green and the sunsets behind Doak. I can't wait to share so many more experiences with you!

Love,

Your favorite Seminole

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up. Chances are, while personalities may overlap, each person in your friend group holds his or her own place. It is the differences which bring the groups together and keep them functioning. No matter how functionally dysfunctional your friend group may be, if you're anything like me, you feel absolutely blessed to have found such a wonderful group of humans to call "your people." Here is what your friend group might look like if they were Disney princesses (and that wasn't just a thing you all pretended in your heads):

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
