It probably feels like the end of the world to you, flames are all around you and the light in the distance is fading. Maybe you feel like your choking on air, or you're drowning in the middle of the ocean.
Scared, anxious, confused, lonely...there's a million different emotions that are jumbled together to make you feel everything all at once, but at the same time, you feel completely numb.
Now, I don't know your specific situation. Maybe you lost a loved one or you just received some life-altering news. Maybe your job or school isn't going as planned. Maybe you're working through your depression and it's a little bit harder to get out of bed today.
I'm sorry you're going through this, and that it's making your life a little tougher at the moment. I've been there, so many times I almost feel like it's an expertise.
People don't like to hear this, but we, as humans, are designed to feel pain and sadness, without it we would not know what true happiness and joy feel like. You cannot have one without the other, so that fact that you feel this pain right now signifies that you are human.
And if you are human, you can feel happiness again, even if right now you think all hope is lost within the world.
One of my favorite poem's is called "The Trick To Holding On" and it's by Taylor Swift. It's written from her perspective. She is speaking to the reader about how she was able to get through her own personal rock bottom moments. The first time I read this poem, it really spoke to me. The poem get's its title from the closing couplet that says: "The trick to holding on/was all that letting go."
To me, that means in order to hold on to who you truly are, you have to let go of the toxic people, low moments and bad choices or situations you've been in.
They do not define who you are.
I can not cure you're feeling or your tough situation, but I can say that the place you are in right now, like the rain, will pass and out will come the sun. Even if only for a moment.
