Harvard Business Review

College isn't easy, let's be honest. People can be mean, jobs are tough, money is always an issue, and sometimes everything feels like it's crashing down.

In my college life so far, I've dealt with awfully rude people, struggling with money, worrying about my grades and assignments, and just trying to keep my head above water also while trying to enjoy life. So, I've written some things that help me when I feel like I can't seem to have anything going for me.

Remember what you have done. Remember all the good things you have done before. Remember that one time you scored the winning goal or that time you aced that final. Whether it's something big or small, you did something great, don't forget that. Stop focusing on the things you're doing wrong, that's easy, but instead focus on what you have done that's great. Take a little pride in who you and what you have done.

Remember who you have. Remember the people in your life who have always been there for you. Maybe it's family, maybe it's your friends, or your teammates, whoever it is, they rock. Let them know how much they mean and how much you love them. Having people in your life who love you more than you know is a blessing.

Stop thinking about the worst possible scenario. The chances of that situation happening are slim to none. Trust me, I over think and think of the craziest thing that could ever happen and I believe that it will. I'm here to tell you, it won't. I always have people telling me to stop over think which doesn't help, so I know that when I over think rather than finding reassurance, I just close my eyes and try and focus on what I truly should spend my time thinking about and usually that scenario is never something I should.

Truth is, stop focusing on everything in your life that is negative. Yes, it seems like everything is falling apart because you are thinking about anything positive. Think of all the good things, then it will feel like everything is going to be okay.

Remember who you are, what you have done, and all of the people who make your life amazing.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
