A Open Letter To The Boy Who Finally Meets My Sister's Standards

Throughout my entire life, my sister has always been extremely picky about boys. She has a list of qualities a guy has to have (she won't admit it but everyone does) and even if a guy is missing one of her checklist qualities, he just simply won't do. I have always admired how she holds herself to a higher standard and how a man has to match or exceed her expectations in order for him to be welcomed into her life. So, you lucky guy, you got the hardest, and most wonderful, girl to get.

To the luckiest man alive,

You have absolutely no idea how lucky you are. My sister is the girl I hold closest to my heart. She is my go-to, my best friend, my honest opinion and my favorite comedian. To add on to that, she is, by far, the most gorgeous human being I have ever set eyes on in my entire life. From her blonde hair (that looks perfect even after a restless night of sleep) all the way down to her perfectly pedicured toes, she has no flaws. She looks even better without makeup than she does with it on (and she looks pretty damn good with it on), and somehow she makes wearing an oversized sweatshirt with a messy bun look fabulous. You've probably realized this already, but she is way out of your league.

If you were to ask me to tell you everything I love about my sister, it would take me forever to make that list. After I finished it, it would probably take up the space of a college lecture hall. Although she drives me absolutely crazy, I could never imagine having a better sister than her. Now, you have her, too, but I want you to realize how truly special she is. She has the most perfect smile than any supermodel I've laid my eyes on. She has gone through hell growing up with a twin brother, but has become a better person for it. She is the middle child and we all know how sometimes it is that child that gets the short end of the stick. She is so extremely hardworking. Her work ethic is something I've always coveted because it totally pays off every time. Finally, she is the most faithful and loyal person I know.

So, you lucky dude, you have managed to steal the heart of the person who means most to me in the entire world. You have affected her life, and therefore have affected mine. Thank you for making her smile and bringing her spirits up. I hope that one day, I can be half as happy as you have made her. I will never be able to express to you how great of a girl you have and how amazing you must be to have stolen her heart. Take care of her. That's my sister.

Sincerely,

My sister's sister

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
