An Open Letter To My Long Distance Best Friend

To the person who lives 300 miles away and still continues to be my rock.

To my person,

I truly believe God places specific people in your life at just the right time, and you are the perfect example. The greatest of friends have come and gone out of my life, but for some insane reason, you're still here. I'm so blessed to have deserved an amazing person like you in my life.

I could go on and on about all the positive impacts you've had on my life. You have the biggest and purest heart I have ever seen, and it's the reason why you love the people in your life so deeply. I have never watched someone work so hard to get to where they want to be.

You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. You loved me when I was hard to love. You listened to me when I didn’t have a voice and let me cry to you when I was broken. Most importantly, you never gave up on me; that is special.

It's also very special to find another person who is the spitting image of yourself. It almost freaks me out when I think about how similar we are. Stubborn, too caring, extremely spontaneous and full of so much love and passion. We're each other's worst enemies, but I can't imagine being so brutally honest with anyone else.

You know me better than I know myself sometimes. You know what makes me die with laughter and the silly little things that make me so mad. You can tell through a text message when I am upset and then continue to do everything in your power to make me feel better. You keep me motivated on those days when I'm extremely unconfident and all I want to do is be lazy. You understand my little weird quirks and think I'm the most tired person in the world but you continue to stay by my side.

Wherever our futures take us, I know you'll be in mine every step of the way, and I wouldn't have it be any different. You fill my life with so much happiness, and I live for the moments when I get to spend short time periods with my long distance best friend.

You are the epitome of a beautiful human being. I hope that every person in this world has someone like you in their lives.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
