You know how some people do not have a valentine for Valentine's Day? Well, the same goes for Mother and Father's Day.
To single parents everywhere on Father's Day: I know it has to be hard raising kids on your own. The good news is you get not one, but two days to yourself! Whether you are a single mother or a single father you get both days to you.
Keep in mind that sometimes us kids do not appreciate the fact that you are raising us on your own, and we do not realize that it has to be hard budgeting on only one income. It might be hard when your kid doesn't tell you things because it would be easier to tell the other parent that isn't there.
My mom raised three kids on her own while she went to college and worked full-time. I will never know how, but she did it. I do not let a day go by without telling her how much I love and appreciate her. She always made sure we went on school trips, band trips, vacations and always had what we needed for these things as well. I know it was sometimes hard dealing with three kids especially during our teenage years when my sister and I would fight over clothes.
I am thankful that I ended up with the best mom in the world that acts like a mother and a father. Growing up with only one parent has taught me that it is possible to raise kids on your own. I know times get hard and the bills seem to never end, but trust me: you are appreciated even when your kids do not seem to show it.
I appreciate that you hardly ever showed that you were struggling even though I know that you did once in awhile. Single parents: enjoy your days because you do not have to share them with anyone except for your kids! Have a great day and keep doing what you are doing because you are loved and appreciated!
Love,
Your kids who appreciate you.
