I love you and Thank You

An Open Letter to My Best Friend

Dear Best Friend,

I am here to thank you. Thank you so much for being there most of my life. Even when we weren’t “best friends” you were there. You held me through breakups, family drama, and even our own fights. We even held each other when we knew the other one was wrong.

I just want to thank you for laughing with me all those years. We laughed at the funny things and the dumb things. I remember the fact that I changed your entire bio for your school account to make fun of you and we just laughed for three days.

In all reality I wanted to come here today to thank you for hanging on even through my depression. For holding me through anxiety attacks and talking me down from my automatic thoughts. Thank you for laughing with me and helping me be the person that I am today.

You have always been there and I love the memories that we have shared. I love laughing about all the inside jokes that no one else understands. I love looking back on our senior year and all the stupid Asian jokes I made at you and the teacher being confused. I love thinking about all the nights we spent talking to each other about love and heartbreak and our future.

I want to thank you for being there to give me an early birthday gift and say goodbye when I left. I also want to thank you for being there when I came home. It saddens me to be so far away from my one true love and best friend, but I know that you will always be here at the end of the day.

I am sorry that I have been distant lately I am just so busy with school. I know that it is no excuse, but I love you and I am trying so hard to be there. I know being so far has hurt us both tons and for that I am sorry, but I love you and you will always be the only person that ever gets me fully.

Lastly I want to say thank you for loving me, holding me, and going out of your way to see me. I miss you, but I know that it will all be okay in the end. I love you more than you will ever know and I need you in my life. I don’t say that enough, but I need you more than I need most people. I love you so so so so so much.

Sincerely, Your Best Friend

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
