An Open Letter To My Big

Thanks for being the big sister I never got to have.

An Open Letter To My Big
Jessica Dunaway

My Sweet Big,

Words cannot explain how much you mean to me. Coming into college, I had no idea we would become sorority sisters and that you would eventually become my big. You have helped make my college experience amazing so far and I will never be able to thank you enough.

Coming to college, I was just this shy girl who barely spoke up and only talked if I was talked to first. When I first met you, I could tell you and I were polar opposites. You always spoke your mind, you didn't care what others thought, and you were so funny. I admired these qualities about you, as well as your confidence. I knew the first time I met you that I wanted us to become good friends. I looked up to your attitude on life and aspired to be like you.

You were always such an amazing friend to me, and when rush came along, I was so excited. While I was excited to visit all other chapters, a part of me just wished that I would get to be in your sorority. You can only imagine my excitement when I got my bid; I couldn't wait to officially call you my sister! It was right then that I knew that I wanted you to be my big. The amount of joy and happiness I experienced on big/little reveal when you picked me up as your little was an amazing thing that I or anyone else will never be able to replace.

Since the day I have met you, you have gone to such great lengths to make me feel like such a special little. If it was not for you, I would still be the shy girl scared to talk and put myself out there. You have helped me grow in so many areas, especially in confidence. You have always been there to cheer me up when I'm sad, as well as to tell me to realize my worth when I am upset over stupid things. When everyone else seems to be unavailable, you always are, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate you for that. I hope that I will be as great of a big to my littles as you have been to me.

Thanks for being the big sister that I never got to have.

All My Love,

Your Little

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
