Where would I be today without these girls.

An Open Letter To My High School Friends

There are some people in your life you never get a chance to thank. Today, this article gives me that chance to thank some very special friends of mine, so here it goes!

Where do I even start? These girls have been in my life ever since day one of high school. Between all of our sleepovers, traditional holiday parties, and celebrating each others birthdays, I don't know where I would be today without each and everyone of you.

Thank you for always having my back in both good times and in bad. I honestly do not know what I would have done for the past five years without all of you by my side. Between shopping for hours at the mall, goofing around and pushing each other in shopping carts at Walmart, and always joking around with each other on and off our old high school campus.

I could never imagine another group of close friends that would show the same love and support as much as each and every one of you! Whenever a problem has ever occurred in my life, I have always known where to find a shoulder to cry on or some one who is willing to listen and give there best advice as possible.

To me, I consider you more than friends, I consider you more as sisters. A group of girls that met in high school that will share anything with each other, and care for each other no matter what. And as we have each others backs while we take our own individual paths in college life, I look forward to continuing our daily Skype calls that bring laughter and joy to one another, and memories that we have each cherished ever since day one.

People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
