"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." Christopher Reeve

Dear Future Son,

I wonder how life has treated you till this letter found its way. I can imagine that you are courageous, a dreamer and maybe even following my legacy as a Phi Sig. But I know whatever you shall be doing, they will be amazing things. My only true wish for you is that you turn out to be the man that every father feels comfortable giving their daughter to. As I write this letter to you, I am currently a sophomore college student who has made many mistakes. Mistakes that I know I cannot rectify but I do not feel as morose about them as I used to. See my son, at some point, you shall realize that the mistakes that you shall make will make you are. That is the cliched explanation to mistakes. Now let me give you ours. Don't worry about all the mistakes that may happen once or twice. Feel blessed about the people you have around you that shall forgive you for them. "Do unto others as you would have the do unto you." These are some words that changed my life not once but every single day that I have existed and until the day I perish. Help someone in need and then see how you feel, trust me you will feel like you have lived. I am not going to lie there is going to be obstacles and maybe even a big dark pit at the end of the tunnel. But if adversity exists, embrace it. As there is no better time to rise from the ashes than when your life has become part of them. College is a fun time in a young man's life. Especially if you are fulfilling the legacy of being in Phi Sigma Kappa. It will be one hell of a time. But I want you to know that have as much fun as you want. Go on adventures, make new friendships and bask in a college romance. Nevertheless, keep up your grades. This world judges you not by the contents of your heart or by the number of lives you have changed. Rather by the GPA you attained and the money you have made. Also, you will lose some friends along this path to a great future and a respectable life. Though fear not my son, if they do not stay they are not worth the time or effort. I would not worry if I were you as I wish that they force may be with you. ( If you do not know what that means I have sincerely failed as a father.) Your mother and I will always be here every step of the way for you even in our deaths. All we need from you is a smile and that strength we wish God blesses you with.

I love you, Son,

Your future Father.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
