An Open Letter To My Soul Sisters, Cousins, And Sibling

Cousins really are a girl's best friends and soul sisters.

As cheesy as it might sound, my best friends are my cousins and sister. Yup, all of six of them are my best friends.

Now, I'm not one to say "I love you" too often, but let me just write out this letter to show how much I appreciate having you guys.

Dear loves of my life,

None of you will ever know just how much I love and appreciate every single one of you. Mostly because I don't ever tell you guys, but also because I don't think I will ever be able to put it into words.

Yeah, I'm a little bit TOO honest sometimes, but I do it all out of love because I know it's stuff that you guys want to hear and I rather have y'all hear it from me, someone who loves you, than someone else that does not matter.

I was a pretty lucky girl to grow up with such great cousins and friends. There is no one else I would rather have by my side to play in the dirt with or go out and eat hot dogs with from that one stand in Mexicali.

Being the one in the smack down the middle between the three older and younger girls, I got the taste of both worlds with you all.

To my older girls, thanks for keeping me out of trouble, but also being the ones I looked up to.

You three taught me how to be a lady and how to not let anyone walk all over me. While one of you is my older sister, the other two treated me like the younger sister you both don't have.

I have probably gone to the best restaurants and favorite places with at least one of you. The three of you have taught me how to be adventurous without fear of what the future holds.

Now, to my babies.

This one is about to make me really emotional because y'all are leaving for Austin, but I love you guys more than anything in the world. Yup, I'm crying while writing this, don't judge me.

You three name-rhyming girls are genuinely my whole life. No goodbye is harder than when I have to say goodbye to you guys.

Let me be honest, I know I haven't always been the greatest example for you guys, but I really hope I have made you proud and have felt proud to look up to me.

Y'all are the little sisters I have always wanted. And will forever be my favorites.

I thought this would be easier for me because I left California before you three, but knowing that now when I come home you guys won't be there, breaks my heart more than anything in the world.

BUT I am ready for many visits to Texas. I am ready to get my yees and haws on and see you guys get the endless happiness you guys deserve.

We recently had our last reunion for a very long time and I just want the six of you to know that those were probably the happiest moments of my life. Like ever.

When the seven of us are together, I just feel all of my worries go away for the time being because I get to share endless laughs and smiles with my best friends in the world.

I'm about to tell you guys something I almost never say, I love you guys. More than anything you will ever know.

No matter where in the country or world we're in, I will travel however many miles to be by your side if any of you ever needed me. It doesn't matter what time of the day or what the hell I'm doing.

Beyond that, no one deserves happiness more than you guys. No one.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
