First off, you guys are amazing. Secondly, I am so thankful for you both, and your loving and caring ways. You have made your son into the genuine and kind-hearted man he is today. Most of the remarkable qualities he has are simply because of you two. So here’s a big thank you for all the things you’ve done over the last 19 and a half years.

Thank you for teaching your son manners.

He doesn’t have manners only with me, but every person he comes in contact with.

Thank you for showing him how to love, and what it’s supposed to look like.

You guys have shown him over the last 19 years what love is supposed to look like, and now he knows how to love the right way.

Thank you for letting him date me.

A big thank you for that one because I have a gut feeling I’ll be around for a while.

Thank you for making me feel like family.

Whether it's inviting me to your family’s Christmas parties, or teasing me, thank you for always making me feel welcome and loved back.

Thank you for showing him it’s okay to show your feelings.

At first he struggled, but eventually he learned sometimes you have to show your feelings whether you're mad or happy.

Thank you for teaching him respect.

That’s something, not a lot of males or anybody for that matter, have today.

Thank you for raising him in the Lord, actually, a huge thank you for that one.

Nothing is better than loving a man who loves the Lord.

Thank you for showing him how to open the doors for any female, not just me.

No matter where we go, the closer to the door we get the faster he walks to open it for me and whoever else is behind us.

Thank you for showing him the right way to treat a lady.

With respect, kindness, caring and gentle ways.

Thank you for teaching him how to take care of himself.

He knows how to iron a shirt, thank God because 90 percent of the male population can’t use a washer or dryer or even an iron. He knows how to feed himself when Mom isn’t there to cook.

Thank you for teaching him the meaning of family.

Family is always there when no one else is.

Thank you for showing him the value of hard work.

Working hard to accomplish a goal, or working hard labor, both are beneficial to every man.

Thank you for showing him how to trust.

Trusting someone is hard, so thanks for showing him sometimes you have to take a risk and trust someone.

Thank you for believing in him.

Believing in him shows him that he can do anything if he just believes.

Thank you for (trying) to teach him how to be patient.

Although he has trouble being patient, he does try.

Thank you for teaching him how to be generous.

Sharing is caring, especially with fries on date nights.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

30
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
