Open Letter to My Boyfriend

The Man That Changed My Life

Open Letter to My Boyfriend

I am beyond blessed with the way you came into my life and truly I hope you are able to handle me enough to stay around. There was a reason you were put in my life. You push me like no one else ever has. You open my eyes up every single day, good and bad. No matter the situation I know I can count on you. You always listen to me, or will want me to repeat myself when you tune me out 😉 but you always have an open ear and I love that about you.

I know not everyday is easy, but I wouldn't want anyone else in your spot. In case you have forgotten, you are the most caring, loving, understanding man in this world. You always want the best for me and us. You never fail to put a smile on my face. I love seeing where you are going and how far you will get in life. You are going to be so successful and I want to be by your side to watch and keep you motivated with it.

It's the little things that matter most. I would not want to be singing with anyone else while driving. I would not want to go fishing with anyone else. I would not want anyone else by my side at golf tournaments and when I am practicing. I don't think anyone else could ever be anything like you. No matter how much I annoy you, you stick around and seem to always want more.

In case I don't say it enough, thank you. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for always being there when I need you. Thank you for all of your support. Thank you for never failing at making a day better. Thank you for teaching me. Most importantly, thank you for being the best boyfriend anyone could ask for.

I love you, forever and ever, amen.

-Ali

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.
