To My Beautiful Mom, From Your Admiring Daughter

A small tribute to my amazing mother in honor of national women's day; honestly this doesn't even do her justice.

To My Beautiful Mom, From Your Admiring Daughter

Mom,

You embody so many of the things I aspire to be in my life. You are a wonderful mother, someone who cares so much, and such a strong woman. You have taught so many of the positive lessons I have learned in my life; for every tough time I had, you were there to see me through it. Growing up, you always taught me to have a strong faith in God. I attribute this strong faith you have instilled as a big part of who I am today. I know that you have been through a lot of difficult, trying events in your life. No matter how harshly other people have judged you, or how left out you felt, you always have continued to carry yourself with grace. In any given situation you have been in, so many people would have simply given up. However, you, being the strong, and wonderful person you are, persevered. That is one of the most important things you have taught me: perseverance. No matter how much people hurt you, how homesick you were, or how left out you felt you would always keep going through to the next adventure in your life. Raising three unruly kids could not have been easy, and yet you and dad continue to raise all three of us with compassion and love. Even when I struggled through my early teen years with friend issues and a plethora of other problems, you remained there. No matter what, your number one priority has been keeping us safe and happy. Despite your anxiety about my moving out, the majority of the time you carry yourself calmly. I am so proud of you, mom. I am proud of you for the things you have overcome. I am so proud of the way you keep going through the day to day no matter how difficult it may be for you at times. I don’t care if people say unkind things about you or any of the things you have been through. I don’t believe that you deserved to go through the hardship that you have. I don’t care what you do or how you act; you will always be my mother. I will always love who you are, through anything that might happen or any mistakes. I aspire to be an amazing mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend like you are one day. You are a beautiful woman, inside and out. I am proud to call you my mother, and I love you so much.

Love,

Your Admiring Daughter

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
