Dear 14 year old me,

In one year, you will have grown in so many ways. You'll feel more confident with yourself, and rightly so! By the beginning of sophomore year, you'll have met a huge goal of yours. And it will feel amazing.

Freshman year will be difficult for you, for sure. But, manage your time now, because honey, you've got a big storm coming. Sophomore year will be harder, but junior year is in a whole other league. Start now, so you won't feel so stressed out junior year, okay?

I think it's safe to say that your awkward phase is, for the most part, over, but there will definitely be some rough patches, especially with some so called friends. As you'll learn in sophomore year, people will take your words and twist them to fit their own agendas. Keep your head held high and don't let anyone else stop you from doing what you want.

I also think it's safe to say that you'll have one of the best glow ups of all time. I mean, just look at the cover photo! We used to think that feeling confident in our body was only a dream, but I'm happy to say it became a reality for me, and it will for you too. Just remember to not base your self worth entirely around your appearance, because you're pretty damn smart as well.

By the way, you'll get your first "B" ever! No worries, it'll even out, and you'll still have a great GPA. Trust me on this. Just talk to your teachers, and don't be afraid to ask questions! You should never be too proud to ask questions. Just accept that you don't know everything and move on.

Enjoy yourself, 14 year old me, and just know that it gets better, but it also gets worse. There'll be some ups and downs, but in the end, stay positive and for the love of God, study!

Love,

Your current self

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
