This goes out to those kids that think they are finally cool, or to those that think that they are finally going to be able to know how Troy and Gabriella felt in High School Musical. Whatever your reason to be excited is about, just keep one thing in mind. These four years are going to be more like four minutes. From the moment you walk into your first class to the moment you walk across that stage.

A big congratulations on finishing middle school and thinking that you are finally going to be able to "live your best life." But high school is more than parties and fighting to be at the top of your class.

It is about enjoying these last couple of years with the people that you have known your whole life. Also being able to have most of the things done for you without anyone wanting anything in return. It the time also when you do not have to be an adult yet but you get to have a vague idea of what it is going to be like, and enjoy those moments that you get to have with your friends before it is all over.

A word of advice is, do not take everything so seriously, and do not be so hard on yourself. Because nothing is forever, and just because you did not get to be at the top of your class doesn't mean that you are going to fail in life.

Join a club and you are going to be able to see that it is where you are going to meet some of your closest friends without even knowing it. That is one of the best things you can do for yourself throughout high school. One it might be fun if it is something you are interested in, and two it is a great way to promote yourself when it comes time to apply to college.

Think about what you want to do after high school if it is either to leave to the other side of the country for college, wanted to stay at the local community college, if you just want to go to trade school, or even if it going off to be part of the armed forces. Make sure that you are determined and work towards your goal. do not let anyone stop you from becoming the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
