Dear Dad,
I’m sure you know this already, but you’re an amazing guy. There hasn’t been a time in my life where I haven’t been grateful to be able to call you my dad. You have done so much for me throughout my life that I don’t know how I could ever thank you or repay you.
Thank you for always supporting me. You have always been around when I have needed you the most. You have helped me through times in my life where I have doubted not only myself, but my athletic ability and my ability to perform in school.
Thank you for showing me what love looks like. You have set the example for any possible significant other that I will pursue or be with, and they are going to have a difficult time living up to how you’ve taught me that I should be treated. Growing up and seeing how much you love mom has taught me to look for nothing less than that, and I plan on finding nothing less. Your example of love has influenced my life in a great way and that will never change.
Finally, thank you for always being yourself. I know that even when work was stressful or if you were just having a bad day that it would be difficult to not let that continue after coming home. I’m happy to say that I don’t know how many times I have seen you upset solely because there were never many times that I saw you upset. Thank you for always having those random laughing fits with me where we don’t even know what we are laughing about and it drives mom crazy. (That’s one of my favorite things about it.) Thank you for being the crazy goofball you are that has helped me find my sense of humor.
Before I wrap up this letter, I have one last thing to say. Thank you for always believing in me. I love you, Dad. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.
Love,
Your little girl.
