To All The Graduating Seniors Of My Sorority
Hannah Koeshall

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for this organization.

Thank you for initiating me into this chapter and for allowing me to be your sister. You have accomplished so much with this group of strong women you will soon be graduating with, and I will undoubtedly say thank you at least fifty times before this article is over with.

You stayed in this organization (whether it be three years or four) the entire time and never lost hope on your sisters, and that is an accomplishment almost as great as the diploma you will be receiving in a few days.

You faced challenges that I never had to face because it was before I came to college and I wasn’t there to offer my support, but know you would’ve had it if I had been there to give it.

You pushed your sisters, including myself, to be the best version I could be. You influenced me to be a very strong, independent woman who needs nothing more than a midnight run to Taco Bell with a car full of sisters. You introduced me to recruitment, taught me what sisterhood meant, and told me I could do anything when I didn’t think I could.

You helped this chapter grow and you are leaving behind a legacy. Each one of you, whether you held a position or not, helped this chapter become what it is today and that is stronger than looking back in twenty years and remembering which positions you held, it’s what you did as a group that matters.

Each one of you are incredible and are without a doubt a force to be reckoned with in the real world because you understand what it means to balance a budget (or get away with having five dollars in your bank account), you understand the importance of philanthropy and bringing positivity to the community you’re headed to, and you understand the value of friendship which is something a lot of people unfortunately don’t have the privilege of grasping like you do.

There aren’t enough words to explain the gratitude your sisters have for you that you are leaving behind, but always remember that they are there.

And always remember: You is kind. You is smart. You is important.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
