An Open Letter To The Girls Who Deserve Better

Because boys are games like trouble and sorry.

But seriously, they are. Sure, it's hard to be happily single in a society where having a relationship is stressed so much. It's difficult to look at the couples on social media that portray happiness and silently wonder why you can't find that same joy with someone. I relate. Seriously. What I also think is extremely difficult, is dealing with someone who does not make you truly happy, just so you can have the status of being "taken."

So here's one for the girls, because everyone needs a little reminder at times.

You deserve more. You deserve to be a priority, and not just a convenience. You deserve to be listened to and appreciated. You deserved to be loved by a man who sees your integrity, passion, and drive; and not just your body. You deserve to be taken on dates, and not simply invited over to watch movies; because we all know that never ends well. You deserve to be called beautiful, whether you look your best or whether you haven't showered in three days. You deserve someone who will answer the phone when you call at noon during your lunch break, and not just someone who will call you in the middle of the night looking for attention. You deserve someone who is accepting of who you are, who doesn't try to change you, and who loves you just the way you came.

You do not deserve to be manipulated by anybody. I'm sure you tell yourself it'll get better and he will change; he won't. Walk away. Actually, run. Run and don't look back, because you are better than that. The guy that only calls late at night and invites you to his place but refuses to do anything else? Let him go. Or the guy that goes above and beyond for his other friends, but fails to make you a priority? Go ahead and drop him too, girlfriend. You deserve more than half of someone's attention; you deserve the whole thing.

What if I told you that toxic relationships just harm you? Darling, you have spent far too many tears over a boy who does not care. You have made far too many calls to your best friend at two in the morning crying over him, and wondering why you are not good enough. Of course, your friend will tell you that your mascara is too expensive for you to be crying like this and to drop him; but for some reason you don't listen, because it's easier said than done. Here's a little secret:

You can't make people care about you; they either do or they don't.

And whether they do or don't doesn't make you any less of a person. There are so many guys that would kill to be with a girl like you, so don't let one idiot stand in the way of you finding true happiness. Know your worth. Know that you ought to be treasured.

Proverbs 3:15 "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her."

Sincerely,

Someone that finally knows what us girls deserve.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
