An Open Letter to the friends I’m leaving behind,

It feels like yesterday it was the beginning of the school year and I was complaining to you both about applying to college. At this point you're about to start that process yourself. You two have been my backbone when I needed some common sense, my main source of laughter, and so much more.

I'm going to miss our spontaneous trips to random places like Panera or Starbucks. Picking you two up and talking and talking about God knows what and giving you “Life advice.” My “advice” may not always be the best thing but thanks for listening anyway!

A, Thank you for being my outlet from annoying people when we just can't pretend to be nice anymore. You've been my saving grace from dealing my family when I'm past socializing point. You have been there from my broken elbow and tears to doing my hair and make up the next day. Thanks for being there to make fun of Toe with me.

M, thanks for always being around when something happens to the car I'm driving. Allowing me to make fun of you everyday, even when you're in a different country. I love you regardless what I say. I'm glad our friendship began with me kidnapping you 20 minutes after you woke up one day and transformed to helping me shove my life in space bags.

Thank you for being the friends that make me laugh a little harder everyday, love life a little bit more, and always be happy. I'll always be one phone call away (I expect them)

Much love always,

A

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
